THE SECRET FORMULA:
A carrot who has superpower eyesight. His best friend, a potato chip who's a bit of a slob. A chocolate bar who plays rotten pranks. And a haunted mansion where it all comes together.
These are the main characters in the first of my series "Chompy and the Munchy Bunch."
"The Secret Formula" features Chompy, a nervous but kind-hearted talking carrot, his best friend Salty, a lovable but sloppy potato chip, and Candybar, the antagonist who's always causing trouble.
When Chompy learns about an ancient supereye formula that would give him the ability to see through walls, he knows he must have it. But the journey leads Chompy and his friends to the mansion of Doc Peppa, where strange things begin to happen. Will "Chompy Juice" save them from the spirits in the mansion?

By D.K. Raymer
Lily, an elegant Arabian mare, lives on Nelson Farm surrounded by athletic performance horses. She shares her stall with a goat named Walter and a cat named Boo. Together they observe life on the busy farm, a life that she cannot participate in. Lily has every comfort at Nelson Farm but she does not have a person to call her own, and she is beginning to wonder if she ever will.
When a new chiropractor arrives from Boston, Massachusetts to treat the owner’s champion reining horse, Lily discovers that Dr. McCullen has a daughter. Eleven year old Micah feels just as out of place at Nelson Farm as Lily does. She has never been to a farm, has never seen a real horse, and is reeling from the sudden loss of her father.
Is this sad girl the person Lily has been waiting for? Can a broken mare help Micah heal? Lily’s Song is a celebration of life, of friends found in the most unlikely places, and a tribute to the healing power of love.

The Captain Encouragement program aims to teach children how to fight violence with non-violence!
A team of individuals named ‘Call to inspire’ created a program called ‘Captain Encouragement’ in April of 2015. The program is intended to teach morality to the children through an interactive program called the “Super Hero Training Program” which is designed for children from age 4 to 10 years. The program is also aimed to teach children how to fight violence with non-violence, be a compassionate member of the society and place value in their goals and dreams.
The California-based team, Call to Inspire, has created this program for the kids to help them in identifying and expressing their emotions in a productive manner. The team has started a project on Indiegogo with a goal of raising $15,000 which will be utilized in funding the program.
The ultimate goal is to stop or—at least decrease—the amount of bullying among the children which has become a serious concern for the past few years; resulting in an increasing number of suicide rates among young adults and cases of abuse. ‘Captain Encouragement’ is a character thought of and developed by the team which promotes the idea that it is “cool to be kind”.
"Captain Encouragement has had quite an impact on our community. He has been able to engage children, young and old, on positive thinking and confidence, making a difference in our everyday lives," said Lyn Wilson, VP and Branch Manager at Oak Valley Community Bank.
Since its inception in 2015, Call to Inspire has been preparing for a nationwide tour of The Captain Encouragement Youth Program for which they have started an Indiegogo campaign. The goal of the campaign is to raise $15,000 which will be utilized in building the final training course, travel expenses, marketing of the program and program space among other things.
The program will include interactive training for the kids with an obstacle course to teach methods of non-violence, guidance on identifying and expressing emotions in themselves and others. They have also created an art contest where all submissions will be featured on their website, Facebook page (www.facebook.com/CalltoInspire) and Instagram page (www.instagram.com/CalltoInspire). The top six will be featured in the next issue of the comic, and the winner will be converted into an actual comic book character. More information about the project can be found at:
