Chasing Kites: One Mother's Unexpected Journey Through Infertility, Adoption, and Foster Care
By Rachel McCracken
A Must Read for anyone who has ever Loved or Lost!
From the sterile isolation of infertility to the emotional rollercoaster of adoption and foster care, Rachel McCracken’s new book, Chasing Kites, weaves real-life experiences of struggle, heartache, and loss into a wonderful narrative of faith, hope, and the joy that can come through it all.
Rachel gets the heartache and the sorrow of the desolate valley called Infertility. She gets the dedication and work that it takes to blend a family. She gets the commitment and purpose needed to help children rise from the ashes of abandonment and fear.
For anyone who wonders:
What is an orphanage really like?
Can you really bond with an adopted or foster child?
What is it like to lose a child who is reunified with their birth parent?
Can you love an adopted or foster child as much as a biological child?
How about fertility treatments, are they actually that bad?
Why don’t people just adopt? What’s the big deal?
Chasing Kites answers all of these questions and more. Going from zero to four adopted children through a Colombian orphanage and then from four to seven through the US Foster Care System, Rachel writes a masterful memoir of the good, the bad, and the beautiful with purpose-driven life lessons learned from each.
If you have ever experienced loss, grief, or heartache this book is for you. If you are struggling to create a family or to blend a family this book is for you. If you are trying to support someone you love through any of these things, this book is for you.
Lose yourself in this delicious tale of love both lost and found.

The Everyday Student
By Chelsea Dawkins
Studying is as much art and science as anything else. Learning to study the right way can help students excel without too much effort. This requires training the brain the right way, a habit that must be inculcated at a very young age.
Chelsea Dawkins’ new book “The Everyday Student” looks at studying and learning in a new light and provides tips on how students can optimize their study time to learn more and learn better.
In her book, Chelsea argues for making an early start by beginning training before the age of three. She also discusses how parental influence can affect brain development and provides tips for parents to help become better students and get better scores.

Everything Your Child Should Know About Money & Finance
By Darrel Francis Jr., MBA
“A perfect tool for introducing your kids to the basics of money and finance, providing the valuable knowledge needed to make effective and informed money making decisions as they transition into adulthood”
When Darrel first shared his book’s concepts with me, I immediately thought “how awesome is this?” He felt that students needed a guide; something geared toward them that explains concepts and skills they should have down by the time they complete high school and enter the adult world. He, as well as I, knew what it was like to become adults and to all of a sudden have to make financial decisions………having no idea of a credit score and how it affected our ability to obtain loans to buy items like cars or what an overdraft charge was and how that could even affect you. He felt that it was our duty as adults to explain these concepts to young people so they won’t fall victim to financial traps. Thus, his guide to money and finances was created!
Most of our youth are thrusted into these same decisions with limited knowledge; some lacking the ability to even open a savings account. So, after he disclosed some of the concepts his book touched upon, I immediately felt that this book would lend nicely to my course. It was written in language students could understand, making it all the more fitting as a facilitating tool in not just my classroom, but any classroom of middle-school to high school pupils. To be able to send political and financial savvy youth into the world feeling confident about their ability to manage their finances should be the ultimate goal. This book lends itself perfectly to that goal. Moreover, it can also be a powerful tool in the home. Parents can use this book to discuss money matters with their children. The entire family can benefit from the information this book presents. The concepts can be put into practice thus creating a financially literate family!

Conversations With Jesus
By Barbara Baker
The book was started with a very vivid dream the author had on Christmas day of 2014. Her brother, Bill had passed in February of 2014 after a long battle with cancer, so it was a very tough Christmas for her family .
In the dream, Barb was shown that she needed to continue to spread His word through the internet. (She read scripture to her brother as often as she could and you could see how comforting it was to him). Although he didn't appear outwardly to have such a strong faith, he would comment that he wasn't afraid because he knew where he was going.
Barb was actually shown how He wanted it spread over the internet. The problem was she knew nothing about computers, so she sat down with a pen and paper and prayed.
The words began to flow like they were being dictated to her. She started with cancer then moved on to several other topics. Upon writing a topic, the words began to flow. At the end, she would read them and exclaim "those are not my words!"
The book consists entirely of each topic and the scripture which confirms it. She did look up each of them to see where in the bible it was written, so the book quotes them as well.
It is entitled 'Fear2Peace'-Conversations with Jesus. Although she is listed as author, she doesn't want the credit as being one.
The app was produced from these words. It's kind of like making a movie of a book. She hired someone to do the voice over of Jesus, so when you select a topic, Jesus is speaking directly to the listener as though it is her/him that is going through this. There is background music and pictures.
